Joshua David Lenz

December 26, 1983-September 11, 2023

“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

Joshua “Josh” David Lenz, 39, Cañon City, passed away on September 11, 2023, after a long battle with mental illness and his own personal demons.

Josh was born on December 26, 1983, in San Antonio, Texas to Ernest David Lenz and Patricia “Patty” (Campbell) Lenz. Josh is survived by his father, Ernest (Renee) Lenz; daughter, Kadence; sisters, Samantha and Jennifer; brothers, Thomas and Jeremiah; bonus father, Cecil Nelson; Uncle Mark (Beth) Lenz; and loving partner, Kerry. He is preceded by his mother, Patty and grandmother, Alice Lebsock.

“He has not dealt with us according to our sins,

Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

For as the heavens are high above the earth,

So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;

As far as the east is from the west,

So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

As a father pities his children,

So the Lord pities those who fear Him.

For He knows our frame;

He remembers that we are dust.” Psalm 103:10-14

Josh had a very rough life. The family hopes that everyone can find peace in the knowledge that he is no longer battling his demons and that he is finally at peace. There will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you donate to Kindred Kids Child Advocacy Center or a charity of your choosing. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please call or text 988 to reach the “988 Suicide and Crisis Hotline”.

“Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” Matthew 18:21-22
