Linda Custer

July 6, 1953 – August 2, 2023

Linda Bates Custer passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the age of 70, in Pueblo, CO.  She was welcomed with open arms by her father Bruce Bates. Linda was born on July 6, 1953 in Tooele, UT.  She was raised in Dugway and Tooele and graduated from Tooele High School in 1971. Linda worked at Tooele Army Depot for many years and transferred to Fort Carson in Colorado Springs in 1994 where she later retired.

Linda married Roger Davis shortly after high school and together they had one son Robert (Bobby), they were later divorced.  She married Kevin Cross and together they had a daughter Marla.  Kevin passed away in 1984.  She married Robert Custer on July 11, 1992 and he brought two sons and one daughter to the family, Buck, Art and Kathy.  Together they raised a blended family with three sons and two daughters. 

Mom loved being with her family and enjoyed time with her grandchildren.  She spent her spare time crocheting and blessed many with her hand made gifts.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Robert Custer, her mother Lewane Bates, her five children Robert Davis (Samantha), Marla Cross, Art Custer (Rachelle), Buck Custer (Rhonda), and Kathy Eller (John), and 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  She is survived by her siblings Lonnie Bates (Laurali), Barbara Lemmon (Lee), Sharon Grimnes, Scott Bates (Laura), Jill Fahrion (Jack), Rebecca Broyles (Scott) and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father Edward Bruce Bates, brother Gary Bates, sister-in-law Elaine Bates, and grandson RC Smith.

Per her wishes she will be cremated and no services will be held.
