Douglas William Green, 72, of Colorado Springs passed on March 27, 2023.

Doug was born on May 3, 1950, to the late William and Maxine Green.  A lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, Doug graduated from Widefield High School in 1968, and remained in Colorado Springs to raise his family and to pursue his passion for constructing quality homes. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane, to whom he was married to for 41 years.

Doug owned Tierra Verde Construction and was an amazing master carpenter and custom home builder for over 45 years. When he wasn’t creating beautiful homes, remodeling his or a family member’s home, he was always kept busy with several other projects.  His work was one of a kind and he would build anything we could imagine, even if it was poorly described.

The love he had for construction was only outshined by his love for his wife Jane, or as he called her, Baby.  She was the light of his life and he would do anything for her.  He always made sure she knew that to the very end. The love the two shared was magical and inspirational.

Doug always enjoyed a visit to Cripple Creek or going to play a few games of pool with his brother Mick. He spent many long days with his sister Cindy, who considered him to be her knight in shining armor. He improved everything he touched, which has made his exit all the sadder for those of us privileged to have shared so many years with this loving, irreplaceable man. His children remember him as a wonderful, caring, strong man and devoted father.

Doug leaves behind 3 children: Stephanie Green, Deonna Martinez (Ken), and Aaron Green (Nilia); and 2 siblings, Mick and Cindy Green. He also leaves to cherish his memory 7 grandchildren: Manch, Andreas, Valerie, Rumaldo, Desiree, Ian, and Seth; 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his wife, Doug was preceded in death by his parents; 2 children, Debra and Thomas; a grandson, Adrian; a nephew, Avery; and his sister-in-law, Linda.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for April 6, 2023, 3 pm at Alternative Cremation at 2377 N Academy Blvd, 80909.  A reception will follow at Quijotes Mexican Grill 208 N Union Blvd, 80909.
