Ismael Catalán Lozada
Dawn, July 14, 1936
Sunset, February 16, 2023 in Pueblo, Colorado
Ismael Catalán Lozada, loving Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle and Brother went home to our Lord and Savior late in the evening of Thursday, February 16th, at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital. In the end he succumbed to sudden cardiac event and a few other health issues.
‘Papi’, as he was known to his family and ‘Smiley’ as he was known to most everyone else, is survived by his seven children (four sons, three daughters), a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, three sisters and his ex-wife, mother of all his children.
He lived the last few years of his life in Pueblo, Colorado with one of his sons. He was enjoying his retirement, while always doing his favorite hobbies, woodworking and fishing. Those who knew him, loved him. His entire family and his closest friends and acquaintances will miss his beautiful smile and happy attitude. We were all very Blessed to have had Papi with us for his 86 years of life and we will all miss him dearly.
A ‘Celebration of Life’ Memorial Service will be held in Denver on July 14, 2023, on what would have been Papis’ 87th Birthday. Those who wish to, and can attend, please contact a family member for more details regarding this gathering. Papi wanted us to celebrate his life and be happy, not sad that he went to heaven before us. We know we will see him again, and though he struggled with many health issues, we thank the Lord for the mercies he showed him.
If you wish to send condolence cards, please mail them to his daughter, Wanda Catalán, at the address below to be shared with the rest of the Catalán family.
