On Thursday, February 2, 2023, Jose Perez Jr, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 68.

Joe was born on September 27, 1954 in Ventura, California to Connie Adaline Ramos and Jose Madrid Perez. 

Marine Cpl, Joe Perez Jr, provided security and assistance to U.S. citizens and foreign nationals evacuated from the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. He embarked on a Western Pacific deployment with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment. 

On June 20, 1990 he married Dorothy Jean Perez. Papa Joe was inspirational for many, especially with his work at California Conservation Corp. He was a custodian for 20 plus years at Ventura College. 

Joe had a big heart, and even bigger personality. He was passionate about poker, good food, and his grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother Connie and his father Jose. His brother Mike Perez.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Perez, daughter Kristina Lyons, son in law Xavier Lyons. Grandchildren Mason Lyons, and Willow Lyons. His siblings John Perez, Lydia Magdaleno, Pat Gill, Jennie Magdaleno. We’ll be spreading some of his ashes in Ojai, California at a later date. Per his wishes there will be no services. May Joe rest peacefully with his Lord and savior.
