December 20, 1948 – November 26, 2022

Anna Marie Aguilar, 73, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away peacefully in hospice care on November 26, 2022 after a brief illness.

She was born on December 20, 1948 to Carlota Maria Gonzales and Rosendo Erminio Baca in Amalia, New Mexico. She spent most of her life in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she worked assembling computers for Hewlett Packard for nineteen years. Anna was passionate about her Catholic faith and taught Sunday school at Holy Family Catholic Church when her boys were young. She met Benjamin Aguilar in 1987, fell in love and had a marriage that lasted over 30 years. In her retirement years Anna enjoyed drinking her morning coffee outside, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother Carlota Gonzales, father Rosendo Baca, her four siblings, David K. Baca, Betty F. Serna, Teresa L. Carley and Cindy M. Sanchez.

She is survived by her three sons Miles Vasquez, Christopher Vargas and Vincent Vargas (Daughter-in-Law Josette); Six siblings, Larry J. Baca (Linda), Jose C. Baca (Rosa), Esther C. Vera, Carlos E. Baca, Trudy A. Hilliard and Ruth J. Morris (Shane); 19 grandchildren, two of whom she raised (Victoria Gonzales and Isaiah Vargas); several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. To say that her family will miss her greatly is an understatement.

Celebration of life will be held at Alternative Cremations and Funeral Services, 2377 North Academy Blvd., On Friday, December 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
