Drake Davidson, affectionately known as “DD” was a beloved husband, father, and human.  He passed away on September 22, 2022 at age of 56 from a long fight with cancer. As Drake happily proclaimed, “He was looking forward to departing earth for the “Upper Room”.

Drake was preceded in death by his mother, Twila Johnson.  He is survived by his wife (soulmate), Mandy Davidson, children, Eldrin Davidson, Branden Davidson, Errol Jenre (EJ), Drake Davidson Jr., Drael Davidson, step children, Rickey and Katalina; brothers: Eric Davidson, Tod Johnson, Andrew Johnson, grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends. Drake’s love and support for his family was unwavering.

Drake was born on 27 September 1965 in Sandusky, Ohio.  He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1984 and immediately enlisted into the United States Air Force.  As a highly decorated 28 year veteran, Drake retired after being stationed in Japan, United Kingdom, Hawaii, Cannon and other bases around the continental United States. Moreover, Drake deployed to support several Middle East military operations.

Drake earned his Master Degree in Human Resources and was in final stages of completing his PhD in Organizational Leadership.

In his spare time, Drake shared an incredible passion for running while conquering over 50 full marathons.  He also relished a powerful membership with Toastmaster Clubs where he routinely garnered recognition for his “witty” remarks.

One of Drake’s strongest qualities was his amazing ability to impact people.  He was a natural motivator and loved to make inspirational facebook posts and Two Minutes of Inspiration (TMI) videos.  Everyone Drake met undoubtedly felt his happiness, infectious humor, and captivating smile.  Always having the best and corniest “What Would Drake Do”  and “How the Fight Started” jokes, Drake would make you roll your eyes while bursting in laughter.  He will be deeply missed and his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him.

Here’s to a life spent bringing joy and laughter to others.
