Cornelius Jerome Newell, 33 years of age, was called home to his Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ on September 14, 2022 surrounded by family.

He was born on July 8, 1989 to William Newell and Mildred A. Hunter in Laurel, Mississippi.  He attended R. H. Watkins High School but obtained his GED in Colorado Springs, CO.  He wore many hats as a Laborer in Colorado Springs.  He was committed to excellence and exquisiteness and will be greatly missed.

Cornelius or “Nene” as most of us knew him had a beautiful soul and he never met a stranger.  He had such a beautiful smile and positive attitude about life, family and friends. He was definitely a person you would want in your circle. He had such a beautiful smile that would light up a room. He was very photogenic and if you were posing for a picture he would come and add himself in the picture.  He loved to try new things and creating his own adventures to share with his family.  He was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He was deeply connected to his boys and would create memories that would last a lifetime.  His wife, better known to Cornelius as his “Queen” was his main priority and he would do anything to keep a smile on her face. He loved his family with every part of him.

Cornelius is survived by his lovely wife Henria Newell; his sons Daijon, Darius and Tyson; his mother Mildred A. Hunter; his brothers Fredrick (LaSpanya) Hunter and William Newell Jr.  He was preceded in death by his father William Newell Sr. He leaves to cherish all his memories to a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Per Cornelius request, there will not be any services.
