William Joseph Mullane 

March 12, 1930, to August 14, 2022

Bill Mullane, 92, a long time Colorado Springs resident, passed away August 14. 

He was born to Walter and Mary Mullane in Arvada, Colorado and grew up in North Denver. 

He married Kathleen Scardina Mullane, his high school sweetheart in 1951. They had 9 children: John Mullane, Collette Mullane, Patty (Tom) Scavo, Bill (Irene) Mullane, Mary Lou Mullane (James Lynch), Dennis Mullane, Paula Shields, Maureen (Darin) Santi, and Tony Mullane.

He attended Holy Family High School, Fort Lewis College, and Colorado State University. He also received a master’s degree from Colorado College. Bill was a teacher and coach at St. Mary’s High School from 1953 to 1960, moving to Widefield School District 3 as a teacher and principal retiring in 1990. He also had a part time job for 25 years at King Soopers. 

Bill leaves behind his 9 children, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Rose Ellen Belfiore, Bridget (Ron) Hufford, sister-in-law Diana (Bob) Leid, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen, grandson Jarrod, son-in-law Doug Shields, mother Mary Mullane, father Walter Mullane, sisters- Agnes Brady, Kathleen Fiorella, and Margaret Beluscak, and brothers- Edward Mullane, John Mullane, and Raymond Mullane. 

Funeral Mass to be held on September 9th, 2022, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 2030 W Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80904. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the William Mullane Memorial Fund in care of Widefield School District 3, 1820 Main St., Colorado Springs, CO 80911.
