George Maestas 81, beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and uncle was called home on July 12, 2022.
Born July 2, 1941 in Vineland, CO. to Mary Lovato and Solomon Mestas.
On May 18, 1968 He married the love of his life Dorothy DeHerrera in Rock Ford, CO where they resided for 9 yrs.  He was working as foreman at Farmland, before transferring to IBP in Holcomb, KS. and lived in Garden City, KS. For 28 yrs. where they raised a family together. They moved to Colorado Springs in 2004, where he began working at Service Source before retiring in July of 2021. He spent the remainder of his life in Colorado Springs. Where he enjoyed reading his bible, spending time with his family, shooting pool, dancing, going fishing, swimming and he loved cheering on his Broncos.
In May 2008 at the age of 66, he achieved his lifelong dream of completing high school.

Survived by his wife of 54 years Dorothy, Son-Demetrio(Julie), Son-Russell(Sasha), Daughter- Eliza(Juan), Son-Joshua(Emily), 16 Grandchildren, 22 Great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 aunt, and several nieces & nephew
Proceeded in death by, his Parents and Grandson Alec Cantu 
Celebration of life will be held at Alternative Cremation 2377 N. Academy Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO. 80909 on Friday July 22, 2022 viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. service will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. reception to follow service.
