Tommy Lynn Thompson

September 21st 1953- December 12th 2021

Tommy (Tom) Lynn Thompson was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on September 21st to Oliver Wendell and Bertha (Zea) Thompson. He grew up in Oklahoma, staying out playing with his friends until the street lights came on. If you asked, he would tell you he started driving when he was 12, simply because there was nothing better to do in Oklahoma. Eventually, making a career out of it. He drove ‘Truck’ for 44 years. We think he drove around six million miles in his career. If you measure the miles from one side of the country to the other, he would have driven back and forth 1,714.28 times.

Tom was 16 years old when he met the love of his life, Darcie (Houston) Thompson. The two of them fell in love and began to dream of the life they wanted with one another. Shortly after marriage, they experienced love in the purest form; their children Tommy and Christi were born. The family settled in Monument, CO. in 1973 where they currently still reside.  As a family of four, they traveled the country taking family road trips in the truck with Tom.

Tom would drive anywhere, no matter the distance, to introduce you to one of his favorite places to eat. Being able to spend one on one quality time with you meant everything to him. Having a wonderful meal was an added bonus.
Tom enjoyed playing a round of golf and watching the Broncos, all while enjoying a fine cigar. He loved to go bowling, and often talked about wanting to become a professional bowler. He loved family game nights, spending any time he could with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandson. His family meant the world to him. Once he learned how to set pictures as his phone background, he would change the picture often so he could quickly show anyone he ran into pictures of the people he was most proud of.

Proceeding him in Heaven is; his Father-Oliver Wendell, his Mother -Bertha, Father in Law-Allen, Mother in Law-M. Faith, Brother-Jon, Sister-Toni, Son-Josh, and nephew-Raymond.

Missing him every day; his Wife (Darcie), his Children Tommy (Christy), Christi (Shawn), David, and Thomas. His Grandchildren Brittany (Michael), Branden, Lucy, Sydney, Brady his great grandson, Brother in Law Allen (Kitty), Brother in Law Herbie, and Sister in Law Joyce, and lots of nieces and nephews to include Tracy, Kim, and Savannah.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday March 27th, 2022 at The Woodmoor Barn. This will be an open house from 3:00pm-5:00pm, located at 1691 Woodmoor Drive, Monument Colorado 80132.
