Edie Yolande Best age 66 of Colorado Springs Colorado passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loved ones on January 25th, 2022 at 2:49 am in the comfort of her own home. Edie was born in Verdun, France on January 9th 1956 to Kenneth Dale Spiker and Paulette Anne Marie Elizabeth Penin, she is proceeded in death by both of her parents. Edie was survived by her beloved husband Kenneth Best of 45 years, Daughters Melissa Washington, Kimberly Valle and Son in law Nathan Valle, her grandson Jordyn Valle, granddaughter Savanna Valle, her sisters Patricia “James” Coleman, Wendy “Randy” Smith, Kary Spiker, Cindy Dubois, and Kim Hunter. Edie graduated from Colville H.S in 1974. Edie worked in a nursing home and also cooked for many years in Restaurants from Washington to California. Edie fell in love with Kenneth and they got married on March 17th, 1980. They moved to Colorado in 1983 and started their lives together as wonderful parents. Edie was the most selfless loving woman that loved her family more then anything. Edie’s grandchildren were her world. She enjoyed going to all of there school events, sporting events, and having them over for countless sleepovers. One of Edie’s favorite hobbies was going to Cripple Creek with her husband she loved the Blood Mary’s and slot machines. Edie was always the neighborhood mom, all of our friends referred to her as Mama Best she welcomed everybody with open arms and would let you talk to her about anything and everything. Edie also enjoyed baking for Christmas everybody looked forward to recieving her yearly Peanut Clusters, but her biggest joy in life was watching her grandkids grow up and spoil them rotten. Based upon Edie’s wishes there will not be a Funeral, she has requested to be cremated and then have a celebration of life party “with details to come” Edie will be greatly missed and left a message behind to everybody “Don’t cry over my passing” those were her exact words.So please everybody when you feel sad just think about all of the great memories we had with her and smile instead
