On Saturday, December 25, 2021, Florence Dewey, a loving and devoted mother of four, passed away at 94 in Monument, CO. She was the daughter of Prisciliano Feuille and Annie Claflin Feuille, deceased.

Florence Feuille was married to Eugene Dewey on June 3, 1954. After a long and devoted marriage, Eugene preceded her in death in 2014.

She is survived by her four children: Deborah Dewey of Monument, Arlene Van Baak of Grand Junction, Anne Jones of Palmer Lake and Grant Dewey of Colorado Springs. Florence is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

After spending her formative years in Laredo, Texas, with three siblings, Florence graduated in 1950 from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. She met Eugene Dewey while working on Laredo Army Air Field and they were married. Shortly thereafter Eugene was transferred to England. Thus they began their 60-year marriage. Gene’s career in the Air Force took them to several locations. In 1969, Gene and Florence retired to Monument, building their dream home in the ponderosa forest of Colorado’s Front Range.

While Gene was in the Air Force, Florence was actively involved in supporting other wives of oversea airman. Once retired she worked as a substitute teacher in the Lewis-Palmer School District and as Secretary at Little Log Church. She and Gene attended Little Log then in more recent years the Church of Woodmoor. She played bells and loved quilting with Palmer Lake Blanket Brigade. Florence loved her Savior Jesus, her family, friends, and all of God’s creation especially gardens and wildlife. We will miss her greatly and ask you to join us in the celebration of her new eternal life in heaven.
