SGM{R} David “Mac” Vernon McDaniel-born September, 26 1974 to Donald Lynn McDaniel and Dolores Faye Branson in Fontana, California. From a young age he ran the Kiamichi Mountains in Honobia, Oklahoma barefoot with his two older brothers, Johnny Michels and Kelly McDaniel.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing, fixing cars and most anything having to do with using his hands. In 1992 David joined the Army National Guard. In 1994, David went Active Duty in the Army where he earned the nickname Mac. David excelled in the Army as an Infantryman, completing the difficult training of Sniper, Ranger, Airborne, Air Assault, Pathfinder, EIB, Silver Spurs, and the prestigious Audie Murphy. David’s final achievements were graduating the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy while simultaneously completing his Bachelors degree. David deployed to Iraq twice, Afghanistan twice, Korea, and Atlantic Resolve. He was respected, revered and loved by all soldiers that he served with. 
David was an extremely proud father of his two children, Samantha (27) and Ryan (deceased 2020). He always supported them in all of their endeavors. David was married to Lisette Anjelique (Dunseth) McDaniel since September, 27 2010. David lost his short battle with cancer on December, 17 2021. He was at home with his wife, daughter and niece.
