Jeffrey Thomas Warner, passed away peacefully at home with his family and animals (his “good friends”); all by his side May 29th, 2020.
He was born November 28th, 1945 in Beaufort, South Carolina to the late James R. and Laura F. Warner where he grew up in Rhode Island.
Jeff was a highly intelligent, skilled, athletic, wise and dedicated man. He attended the University of Rhode Island where he played collegiate level hockey and football while earning his bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He also earned his 3rd degree black belt in karate throughout this time.
Born to parents who both served in the US Marine Corps, Jeff was overly passionate and dedicated to the armed forces. He served his country as an avid Marine during Vietnam. After his time in the military, he moved out west to then pursue a lifelong dream to have horses become an American Cowboy, moving to Colorado. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He retired as a mechanical engineer from Lockheed Martin where he was held in highest esteem as program manager for over 26 years. Much of his work was sworn to secrecy working with US military contracts in the US missile defense. Sworn to his honor, not a word of this was ever spoken with anyone here on earth.
Anyone who knew Jeff, could attest to his sentimental and honest character. He was a devout Christian and respected man of God, dedicated to his friends, family and animals. Truly a man of utmost respect, dignity, and knowledge. When one did not know the next move in life to make; a phone call or visit to Jeff’s ranch over a heart felt conversation surely provided the answers. His daughters, family and countless friends relied on his intuitive wisdom on countless occasions- perhaps something we will all miss the very most about Jeff. He was always full of exciting stories describing his many adventures that took him all over the world outlining his successful lucrative and dynamic life.
Jeff loved old cars, motorcycles, exercise, firearms, military aircraft, fly fishing, college football, horses, martial arts, the Rocky Mountains, his family and the Lord.
He dreamed of a life living along a swift moving river running a ranch in the remote mountains of Montana. This is undoubtedly where is his now living in heaven, fly fishing, riding horses, with all of his late animals, friends and family by his side. This brings his family much peace.
Jeff is survived by 3 daughters, Shayna Lee Warner-Vahsholtz, Kristin Lorraine Warner, Kimberly Ann Wholean, son-in-law Seth Vahsholtz, 4 granddaughters (Katelyn Ann Zeller, Kayla Sue Hammond, Kaelynn Sandra Allyson Deshong, and Sylvia Sahren Harris),1 grandson (Jeffrey Dale Deshong), 1 great grandson (Wyatt James Hammond), nephews (Samuel Allen Blakely, Simeon Eliot Blakely, and Stephan John Gay), along with several extended family members in Rhode Island.
A celebration of life memorial will be held at a later date at this farm in Peyton, Colorado to be followed by a family fly fishing trip to Missoula, Mt in his honor in the future.
