Rosemary Frances Brooks (nee Byrne) passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on April 1, 2021 at the Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Rosemary was loved unconditionally by her family and her many faithful friends.

Rosemary was born in Brooklyn New York July 12, 1949 and later moved with her family to Salina, Kansas. She graduated from the Business College of Salina and later became a certified chairside dental assistant.

She was married on December 6th 1980 to Robert Brooks of Chicago and they moved to Northern Illinois. While there Rosemary became a licensed cosmetologist and a prize winning competitive stylist. She further honed her cosmetic skills at the Westmore Academy in Hollywood, California all while making lifelong friends in DeKalb, Illinois.

Rosemary relocated to Colorado Springs in 1993 and soon began a career as a transportation assistant at Academy School District 20 finally retiring in 2018. She made many rich friendships at the district and some of them learned that playing  “Bunko” with a  Brooklyn girl can be expensive.

She was preceded in death by her father Philip Byrne and her mother Catherine (nee Bonfiglio) and her dear brother Philip Jr.  She is survived by her steadfast and loving sister Denise Leal (nee Byrne),  her brother-in-law Raphael Leal, her nephew Adam,(Yvette) and niece Lyndsi Leal,(Israel); all of El Paso, Texas. She derived immeasurable joy from her handsome great nephews and beautiful great nieces and was quick to show you the photographic proof.

Rosemary will be remembered for her many talents, her truthful sense humor, but mostly for an innocent love that made all of us better souls.
