Harold Homer Day was Born September 27th, 1926 to Clark Homer Day and Gladys Patience Dame of Flint, Michigan. He passed away on January 9th, 2021 at 94 years old. Married 63 years to Jacqueline Angela Dawson on September 3rd, 1951 they raised their family in Rochester, Michigan where he retired from General Motors in 1981 after 32 years as an Executive Engineer at GM Truck & Coach. Upon retiring, he and Jackie have lived in the Florida Keys, Sedona, Arizona, and as of late Colorado Springs, CO to be near their children.
Harold was a loving and generous father full of joy, beloved by his family and a gracious friend to all he met. We were blessed to have had him with us for so long. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Remembered by many with his encouraging words and great sense of humor and ability to make so many laugh. He lived his life giving generously. Family was everything to him and he was always willing to go out of his way to help. He always celebrated families accomplishments and comforted our sorrows.
A veteran of the Merchant Marines, he enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts, liked western movies, stained glass projects, woodworking, attending gem & mineral shows to name just a few.
Grandson of Flint, Michigan Pioneer Homer A. Day, he was preceded in death by his wife Jackie, two Brothers Ralph Clark Day and Douglas Gilman Day. He is survived by 4 Children, Brian Dawson Day of Bellaire, MI, Keith Clark Day, Nancy Day Bennett, Melanie Day Allums all of Colorado Springs, CO along with 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
