Carol Ruth Holland Bonham March 4, 1942 December 30, 2020

Carol Ruth Holland Bonham, age 78, passed away on December 30, 2020 in Simla Colorado.  Carol lived the last few years at the Good Samaritan Center-Simla, where the staff provided love, compassion and dignity in her final days.

Carol was born in Kutch Colorado on March 4, 1942 to Louise and Alvin Holland, who predeceased her.  Carol was also proceeded in death by her husband Orville Duane Bonham in July 2020. Carol is survived by her brother Loren Holland and his wife Barbara, 7 children Tracy and Donna Bonham of Trindad, Cara and Bud Gawrecki, of Florida, Troy and Christine Bonham, of Wyoming, Trent “TC” Bonham of Washington, Sara Lee and Scott Markle of Rush, Catherine and John Rose of Colorado Springs and Tom Bonham of Simla; 13 grandchildren Brad Higby, Mike Higby, Desirae McCaslin, JJ De Oliveira, Seth Bonham, Jacob Bonham, Hannah Bonham, Mason Bonham, Marissa Bonham, Megan Bonham, Miles Bonham,  Sam Eastman , Brad Eastman and Josie Markle; and 5 great grand-children Bella Higby, Duane Higby, Jacob Higby, Emma McCaslin and Damon Eastman.

Carol loved having her home filled with her children, grand-children and friends.  She was always full of mischief when her brother Loren was around and her infectious laughter could be heard throughout the home.  Carol and her husband Duane raised their kids on a ranch in Southern Colorado.  Carol made sure her kids were hardworking, God loving cowboys and cowgirls.  Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who will have beautiful and funny stories for years to come.  Carol’s second love was her coffee.  Any family, friend or neighbor could stop by and be guaranteed a cup of coffee.  Carol was always the one to make a bad situation better with laughter or a joke.  Carol – Mom, Grandma, friend will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

A public gathering will be held at Liberty Plains Baptist in Simla, CO at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate her life.
