Ronald E. Phillips

Ronald E. Phillips left his family and friends on December 12, 2020. He was born in Wray, CO, the youngest of 9 children of Jesse M. and Blanche L. Phillips and was predeceased  by siblings Robert, John, Jesse, Helen, Violet, Hazel, Grace and Virginia. Survivors include wife Carolyn; children Pamela (Al) Lawlor, Scott (Beverly) Philiips; grandchildren Jordan Lawlor and McKinsey (Ethan) Oehring, and Tessa, Tucker, and Maddie Phillips; great grandson Elijah Oehring and numerous nephews and nieces.

While a student at Burlington, CO High School, he lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track. Ron continued his education at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, CO on a basketball scholarship and completed his degree at UNC in Greeley, CO in 1965.

He taught in Delta, CO for 1.5 years and in Monument at Lewis-Palmer High School for 30 years, from 1967-1997. While at LPHS, he coached football, basketball and track. Nominated by peers and former students, he was inducted into the Lewis-Palmer Hall of Fame in 2019.

Ron was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, ggpa, friend, uncle, teacher, coach and mentor and is extremely missed.

The Rosary and Mass of Christian burial will be held beginning at 9:30 am on December 31, 2020 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Monument, CO, where he was a parishoner for 53 years.

May he rest in eternal peace.
