Steve, Mason, and Joshua Collier passed away together last week in a tragic accident as they were traveling to the World Series, a passion-driven trip.  They leave behind their gracious and loving wife and mother, Becky Collier, and their endearing daughter and sister, Emily Collier.   Survived by mother and grandmother, Margaret Collier of Garden Grove, CA, sister and aunt, Wendy Graves of Garden Grove, CA, and sister and aunt, Debbie Mullin of Bonney Lake, WA.   They are reunited with Steve’s father, Huston “Gene” Eugene Collier, who passed before them in 1993.  They are also survived by grandparents, Doug and Sandy Simmons of Garden Grove, CA and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Steve was born in Fullerton, CA in 1968.  He married Becky, his high school sweetheart, in 1992 and moved to Colorado Springs, CO the next year where they started their family.  Steve worked for the United States Postal Service for the past 29 years.  He was a beloved baseball coach to not only his boys, but to many young men throughout Colorado Springs, coaching with Colorado Springs Little League, competitive youth teams, and Wasson, Palmer, and Widefield High Schools. If he was not delivering mail, protecting the rights of his coworkers, or coaching baseball, he was hiking and always loving his family, friends, and his Lord. The Los Angeles Angels have lost their best fan.

Mason was born in Colorado Springs in 1999 and was a 2018 graduate of Palmer High School.  He was enrolled at PPCC in the Multi-Media Graphic Design certificate program.  Mason served as a supervisor at Chick-Fil-A for the last four years where he worked side by side with an extraordinary group of lifelong friends. Born and raised into a life of baseball, Mason was an all-star player for Palmer High School, but more important than his playing and love for the game was the character, respect, and loyalty he brought to the field and his teammates.

Joshua was born in Colorado Springs in 2004.  While currently attending Cheyenne Mountain High School as a junior, Josh played baseball, sang in choirs, acted on stages, and cooked delicious food all of his life, but his most loved activity was investing in people and making everyone laugh and be happy.  Heroes included his dad, Dwight Schrute, Mike Trout, and himself. Josh worked alongside his brother, Mason, at Chick-Fil-A where his humor charmed coworkers and customers alike.

Steve, Mason, and Josh had profound effects on the community.  From work and baseball to school and church, from friends and family to teachers and coaches, they touched the lives of so many people. Our loss is far-reaching, but their legacies, stories, and examples will stay with all of us forever.

There will be a private life celebration for Steve, Mason, and Josh on Friday, Oct 30, 2020.  There will be streaming available beginning at 10:45 a.m. at sunnyside.online.church.  The services will also be available for viewing at a later date.
