Todd Allen Barnes was born in Colorado Springs on Oct 25, 1962 and died Oct 12, 2020.  He was the youngest of four children, born to Bill and Betty Barnes. The majority of his life was spent here in Colorado. Todd was both born into, and taken from, this life prematurely.

Living in Colorado, Todd’s family enjoyed fishing as a frequent vacation or weekend activity. He grew up loving this way of being with nature, family and friends. Antero Reservoir became one of his favorite “fishin’ holes.”

Todd was an athletic person. He was a strong swimmer, and an accomplished skateboarder, even when skateboards were skinny, short pieces of wood. He would handily win at a game of ping-pong or horseshoes, and at one time did a little weight lifting.  He worked with his hands and was employed throughout Colorado in the construction trade. Some of his proudest accomplishments were several bridges he helped build along I-25.  Todd loved his Harleys and built a circle of friends around their mutual appreciation for the power and sense of freedom they felt riding a motorcycle.

A Christian man, Todd believed in a forgiving God and a better life after this one.  He was known as a person with a big heart and generous spirit. Although not always a fan of governmental authority, Todd was fiercely proud to be an American.

Preceded in death by his father Bill, Todd leaves behind his mother Betty, sisters Gail and Lynn of Oregon, brother Darrell of Colorado Springs, as well as other close relatives and many dear friends.

Everyone whose life Todd touched is encouraged to celebrate him in a way that is meaningful to them. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Colorado Springs Rescue Mission.  His ashes will be scattered, joining his beloved father at Antero Reservoir, in a private ceremony at a later date.
