John Henry Shotts, 75 crossed over to into his spiritual journey August 26, 2020 peaceably at home surrounded by his loving family. Born 6/15/1945 in Julesburg, Colorado to James E. and Ida E Shotts. Graduated from Sedgwick County High School in 1963. Using his mechanical skills he worked in Julesburg, CO; Goodland, KS; and Fairmount, ND. He found his life’s calling as a recovering alcoholic in 1976 which began his 44 years of complete sobriety. He shared his sobriety and intuition to aid countless patients who became fast friends and joined him in sobriety. His career spread his talent from Norton, KS; Chandler, AZ; and Colorado. He retired in 2017 after a rewarding 37 year career as a Certified Addiction Counselor with Valley Hope.Surviving John are his wife Lynn Stanley Shotts (Colorado Springs, CO); brother Jamie (Benton, IL); son Barry and wife Brigit (St. Helena, CA); son Rick and wife Wendy with granddaughter Lauren and grandson Thomas (Highland Park, IL); Step daughter Marisa with Scott and with granddaughter Kenya and grandson Abel (Papillon, NE).John wished to be cremated with no memorial services. The family requests no flowers.
