Barbara Jean Weichel, age 76, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, April 15, 2020 at Penrose Main Hospital. She was born April 19, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles Peyton and Barbara Ellen Brown Baer.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Hugo Weichel and great granddaughter, June Carter Zemke.  She is survived by her brother, Peyton Gary Baer, two daughters, Barbara Weichel-Amirghaffari and Christine Weichel-Yum, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Raina and Bradley Zemke, great granddaughter, Mia Jordyn Zemke, and two grandsons, Bilal and Bashar Issahaku.  Barbara also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Barbara was a homemaker dedicated to the care of her loved ones. She was a talented artist and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Penrose Main Hospital and Hospice for their efforts and dedication.

Barbara will remain with her daughter in Colorado until such a time when it is safe to travel to Virginia to place her beside her husband and great granddaughter in the family plot. Funeral services will be announced at that time.

Barbara will be forever remembered in our hearts and greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known her.
