Peter M. Schotting 11/14/43-3/19/2020

This innovative & charismatic Dutchman born in Amsterdam was a veteran of the Royal Netherlands Army 12th Infantry Battalion & coach of the 1976 & 1980 US Olympic Speedskating Teams. As the coach & mentor of many world-class champions, Peter’s idiosyncratic coaching style brought a level of
sophistication & recognition to the world of American Speedskating. Peter died unexpectedly in Pueblo CO,
predeceased by his father Johannas Schotting, mother Carolina & brothers Tom & Theo.
Left to mourn his passing are his son Matthew Schotting (Jamita), from his marriage to Maureen Keyes,
sisters Agnes, Mieke & Lies,brothers Andre (Willy), Paul, Frans, Hans, Gerard,step-mother Thea Walstra,
sister-in-law Joke Schotting & special friend, Erik Henrikson.
A memorial will take place in the future, time & place TBD.
