Ruth Ann Taylor

On Sunday, June 2nd, Ruth Taylor, age 83, died in Colorado Springs surrounded by her family. Ruth was born December 31, 1935 in Alamosa and was the daughter of Clarence and Ilma Jones. She was the eight of nine children, living in several areas in Colorado throughout her childhood. She married Gene Taylor of Salida on May 5, 1954 and lived in Poncha Springs, Buena Vista, Colorado Springs and Phoenix. Ruth and Gene celebrated their 50thWedding Anniversary prior to Gene’s death in 2004.

Ruth’s primary focus in life was her family. Ruth was devoted to her family and was involved in Boy Scouts and any other activities the boys took part in. She cherished her role as wife and mother above all the things she did in life.  She worked many years in the grocery business, retail and banking.

Ruth and Gene had four boys, Leonard, Alan, Bruce, and Jerry. Leonard preceded his parents in death in 1993. Ruth is survived by Alan (Julie) of Phoenix, AZ, Bruce (Joan) of Colorado Springs, Jerry (Laura) of Colorado Springs, thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Ruth’s family would like to thank the tremendous staff at Brookdale Vista Grande for their love and devotion to our mother. The outstanding staff took great care of her during the last years of her life.

In place of flowers, the family respectfully requests that a donation be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
