1936 ~ 2019
Anne Yvonne Adams, was born October 6, 1936 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was 82 years old when she passed away on January 4, 2019 in Colorado Springs.
Anne grew up in Colorado Springs where she met and married Richard H. Adams in 1955. They eventually settled in Ellicott, Colorado with their six children. Richard L. of Ellicott, Colorado; Thomas (Nanette) Adams of Longmont, Colorado; Bill (Terry) Adams of Peyton, Colorado; Cara (Martin) Deveau of Altadena, California; and Mark (Renee) Adams of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her son Steve (Mary Pat) Adams of Paonia, Colorado; her ex-husband Richard H. Adams of Lodi, California; and her great-grandson Luke Blackwell of Longmont, Colorado.
She had a big heart for animals. She loved every animal that crossed her path (or wandered onto her property). She made sure that they felt they were loved. She shared her compassion for animals with her family and with everyone who knew her.
She enjoyed telling stories about her childhood. She had a sense of humor and when you saw her laugh it made you laugh. She loved music and all of her life enjoyed singing along.
She had a strong spirit. She overcame many obstacles in her life and was a 44+ year survivor of breast cancer. She knew how to make do with little and with much. She worked hard all of her life taking care of her children, her home and her animals.
She had a passion for arts and crafts. She was very inventive and creative. She sewed clothing and stuffed toys for her family using her own unique designs. She always had a new idea of how to rearrange her house or how to redecorate it. She loved to decorate everything with paint – ceramics, walls, fences and even feathers and dried bones. She inspired her children to be inventive, curious, and eager to try new things.
She loved to receive and to write letters. Her grandchildren fondly remember all the cards, letters, painted feathers and other artwork that she sent them. She had sixteen grandchildren: Chandra (Will) Manchester, Megan (Zach) Blackwell; Amber and Tyler Adams; Rachel (Brian) Fox, Kathleen (Matt) Krantz, Jacob, Alyse, Josiah, Emily, Caleb, Ben, and Nathanael Deveau; Cody Adams; Brayden and Camryn Adams. She had eleven great-grandchildren: Carter and Keenan Manchester; Brody, Luke, and Oliver Blackwell; Daniel, Elijah, Joshua, and Caspian Fox; Layla and Jackson Krantz. She loved them all. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was special to everyone in their own way. We all have our own memories with her that we will never forget. But mostly, we remember her love. She was a wonderful woman. We will miss her greatly.
