Joan R. Zwick passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, peacefully at home with family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Zwick, children Irene Ryan, Robert Zwick (Pam) and JoAnn Zwick (dec.), sister of John Dial (dec.), Patrick Dial and Sharon Maloney (Don), grandchildren Crystal Smith, Alyson Lorenzo and Robert C. Zwick, great grandchildren Hailey and Alexandra, sister in law to Marie Donnelly (dec.) and Thomas Donnelly (dec.), Peter and Joyce Zwick, dear aunt and great aunt. Joan was the daughter of Ruthe and Ralph Dial, born October 20, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. In her young adulthood she was an accomplished dancer and immensely enjoyed her participation on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand in Philadelphia, PA. While employed by the 7 Up Bottling Company as a payroll clerk, she met Robert Zwick at the soda fountain stop they both frequented. Robert and Joan married October 8, 1960. She loved her role as a wife, home maker and mother. Her early sales career with Tupperware was successful, and later, when their children were older, she endeavored upon her career in Real Estate, first as a sales person, then a Broker. Her interest in the community led to her membership and participation in the Middleburg Heights Chamber of Commerce. Joan enjoyed gardening, crafts and her large circle of family and friends. In their retirement years, a relocation to SW Florida and Colorado allowed enjoyment through family gatherings and local dining, shopping and sightseeing. Joan was a Christian woman who led by example in kindness and deed. Family and Friends will gather for a Memorial celebrating Joan’s life on Monday, January 14, 11 am at Alternative Cremations, 2377 North Academy Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Joan’s memory would be greatly appreciated if desired in lieu of flowers.
