Mikel Joyce Coates passed away August 9, 2018. Mikie was born July 23, 1948 in Fillmore, Utah. She moved to Colorado Springs with her family when she was a teenager and she remained in Colorado for the majority of her adult life. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, James Burton Lee and Anna Lois Gray. Mikie is survived by her two brothers, Rick Shick and Kurt Gray, by her daughter, Amie Gray, and her nieces and nephews, Shannon Porter, Jason Shick, Olive Gray, and Eli Gray. Mikie was a voracious reader and a gifted wordsmith. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her gregarious nature, and her compassion for those in need. Mikie was like no one else and she will be sorely missed.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on September 30, 2018 at the Mansions Pavilion in Manitou Springs, CO.  198 Lovers Ln; Manitou Springs, Colorado 80829.
