1963 ~ 2018

Jason Petz, 55, Colorado Springs, CO, formerly of Bismarck, died June 26, 2018 at his home with his long time partner and caregiver Denise at his side.

Jason Steward Petz was born June 7, 1963, in Minot, to Dennis and Audrey (Larson) Petz.  When he was two, the family moved to Makoti where he attended school through first grade.  They then moved to Bismarck where he graduated from Century High School in 1981.

Jason enlisted in the National Guard serving until his honorable discharge in 1987.  He attended Bismarck College for power plant technology and then moved to Colorado Springs.  He worked for the city for a brief time and then worked for Digital until 1992.  When he was 29, Jason was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).  He continued working at a used car dealership until he was unable due to his health.  He spent time living between Colorado Springs and Makoti.

Jason enjoyed fishing and hunting, skiing, cooking and going to concerts.  He had a green thumb and propagated house plants.  He had a special relationship with his Grandpa Ed Larson and they would spend time just shooting the breeze.

Jason is survived by his parents, Dennis and Audrey Petz of Makoti; son, Nathaniel Petz and daughter, Desiree Petz, both of Colorado Springs; brother, Nathan Petz (Carrie) of Vancouver, WA; sister, Heather Chapman of Ventura, CA; nephews, Joel and Kyle Petz and Luke Chapman; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; uncle, Duane Petz; aunts, Joyce Pank and Peggy Lampert; and several cousins.

Memorial Service:  Friday, July 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Hope Lutheran Church, Makoti, North Dakota.

Interment will take place in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan at a later date
